Fire Damper Inspections
A fire damper is a passive fire protection product that closes when temperature rises within an air duct. Dampers slow or stop fires inside a facility’s air ducts and HVAC system, to prevent fire from moving through air ducts leaving people with no escape.
Dampers must be regularly inspected and maintained in accordance with code. It is crucial to have a technician do this who is certified, familiar with all technicalities and experienced in the required documentation. These tests need to be done under normal airflow conditions.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has established mandatory standards for all fire and smoke dampers. Geopfert is qualified to inspect and verify the proper use of fire dampers and smoke dampers for local codes and NFPA guidelines.
