Municipal Safety Center HVAC Controls

Client: Municipal, police & fire building, office and garage space

Problem

We were contacted by a local city center regarding temperature problems in their safety building (police and fire department). They had an existing pneumatic control setup with major control problems. Technically, their static pressure, discharge air, and mixed air were completely uncontrollable. Practically speaking, the only thing that the customer could count on was being uncomfortable in their office or garage space on a regular basis. Their existing service company was visiting weekly.

Solution

The solution was to continue to use all existing HVAC equipment and rework all operating controls. The pneumatic system was removed and replaced with a new Honeywell software control package. A desktop computer was setup from which the temperature of the entire building would be controlled AND monitored off-site (i.e. our technicians at our shop facility). Settings can be changed in their control system right from our shop location without a technician being dispatched to the customer’s location. The result is a well-operating, trouble-free system … not to mention, just one service call in the last year.
